Amniocentesis and cord blood sampling for Karyotyping, Amnio infusion, Foetal reduction in multiple pregnancies,
Ultrasound guided fine needle aspirations(FNAC) and biopsies (Tru-cut biopsy) of all the parts and solid organs. Trans-rectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsy, Prostate abscess aspiration, Trans-vaginal guided aspiration of pelvic fluid collections, ovarian cysts,
Aspiration of all abscess and collections, Pig tail catheterisation for collections and abscesses in the chest, abdomen, pelvis, Tapping for Ascites, Tapping for Pleural effusion, Deep vein thrombosis - catheter guided lysis of clots.
Percutaneous Biopsies : A US-guided biopsy is a procedure by which the radiologist uses a very thin needle/ specialized Biopsy gunto obtain tissue samples from deep seated organ or suspected tumor mass or abnormal area. The needle is precisely guided to the region of interestby viewing the needle track on ultrasonography image.
Trans-Rectal Prostate Biopsy : Guided biopsy of Prostate using Transrectal Ultrasonography (TRUS) is a safe and simpler alternative to surgical biopsy to detect and diagnose presence of cancer in Prostate gland.
Abscess Drainage: Abscesses are pus collections anywhere in the body. Unless the pus is drained or removed treatment with antibiotics may not be effective in completely curing the infection. Surgically removing pus from deep seated organs like liver, kidney and abdominal cavity can be very complicated. In these situations Ultrasound guided catheter drainage is a simpler option where a thin catheter is pushed into the site of pus using ultrasound image and connected to an external bag to remove the pus.
Pleural and Ascitic fluid Aspiration: In certain disease processes fluid (water) can collect around the lungs or in the abdominal cavity. This fluid may have to be removed and analysed for diagnosis and also to help in faster recovery. This can be safely done under ultrasound guidance.
Thrombolysis:Ultrasound guided puncture and access of thrombosed veins can be done to aid in thrombolysis (breaking of clots)
Amniocentesis for Karyotyping: In pregnant ladies in certain high risk situations the fluid around the fetus may have to be removed and analysed to diagnose possibility of chromosomal abnormalities like Down’s Syndrome. Our centre is authorised and registered under PCPNDT act to do this procedure.
Fetal Reduction: In multiple pregnancies (triplets or more) in some situations it is advised to reduce the number of foetuses for the safety of mother and for successful outcome of pregnancy. In these situations it is possible to ablate one or more of the foetuses safely at an early stage by injecting certain drugsunder ultrasound guidance.
Diagnostic tests and procedures are used to confirm or rule out a suspected diagnosis. In this section we have information on the range of diagnostic tests and procedures conducted at our centres - radiology services, pathological tests etc.
